Our state-of-the-art skills are based on the consensus view of the Basic Life Support (BLS) Working Group of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR). The program also adheres to established instructional design and educational protocols, ensuring a valid and credible educational experience. EFR Primary and Secondary Care

The Primary Care (CPR) course teaches you to respond to life-threatening emergencies. Through a combination of knowledge development, skill development, and realistic scenario practice, you'll learn to identify and respond to situations like stroke, spinal injuries, and cardiac arrest. Key skills include:

  • Scene Assessment

  • Barrier Use

  • Primary Assessment

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Serious Bleeding Management

  • Shock Management

  • Spinal Injury Management

  • Conscious and Unconscious Choking Management

  • Recommended Skills: Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Use, Emergency Oxygen Use

The Secondary Care (First Aid) portion of the course covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life-threatening. You will focus on secondary assessment and first aid, with hands-on practice in realistic scenarios. Key skills include:

  • Injury Assessment

  • Illness Assessment

  • Bandaging

  • Burn Management

  • Splinting for Dislocations and Fractures

The course also includes first-aid treatment references for a wide range of emergencies, such as allergic reactions, burns, diabetic problems, heatstroke, and more.

CPR & AED

Learning to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can increase someone's odds of surviving cardiac arrest by up to 50 percent. This course teaches you how to deploy and use an AED and perform basic CPR. Please note that the EFR CPR & AED course alone does not meet the prerequisites for PADI Rescue Diver, Divemaster, or Instructor courses. However, you can add AED training to a Primary & Secondary Care course.

Care for Children

In the Emergency First Response Care for Children course, you'll learn how to respond if a child or infant is ill or injured. You'll discover how medical emergencies differ for children versus adults, gain insights into the emotional aspects of caring for children, and learn how to prevent common childhood injuries and illnesses. This course includes both primary care (CPR) and secondary care (First Aid) skills, preparing you to assist infants and children in both life-threatening emergencies and minor mishaps.

This Emergency First Response course is a prerequisite for the PADI Rescue Diver course.

We also conduct Accident & Incident Investigation, Fire Warden and other OSHA courses.
